Summer's End
August 15, 2024
The hot days of summer are coming to an end. I'm looking forward to the cooler days and nights of fall. How about you? I was talking with my older sister the other day, and she pointed out that pumpkin spice should appear soon. A sure sign of fall!
I'm waiting for my editor to send me her edits and thoughts on Green Eyes & Dimples. She had a book to finish before tackling mine. She's awesome to work with and worth the wait. She told me she'd read the synopsis I sent with my manuscript and it sounded like a winner.
Another new story has begun! I'm over 1400 words into it. I'm using a late-night idea of my husband, Mike, for this one. It all starts in a bar. The bartender and a cop meet behind the bar with bullets flying overhead. Exciting, right? Well, I may have tamed down his initial idea a bit, but it still starts in a bar. The working title is Bourbon Neat. Why? The bartender identifies a new customer with his drink order. Of course, the new customer is the cop. The title is growing on me as it's different.
Have you enjoyed my character interviews? You can find them on my website's Blog: romance-degrootified.net It's fun getting into the character's head and answering questions from their perspective. I started with Garrett Dane from Resolute Love. Then Avis Cole from Sparks Fly got her opportunity. Next was Mayor Paul Roebel from Playground Antics. My last was a favorite because Mitchell Tobias (Uncle Mitch) of Restoration wasn't an active character, but had an impact on the main male character, his nephew, Seth. I want to interview characters from Challenged Love, Victorious Love, and Accidental Attraction, and then I may start all over with other characters.
I'll keep you updated on the progress with Green Eyes & Dimples.
